I have struggled for along time trying to get my son to sleep he has so much energy and I feel he only needs about 7 hours a day, rather than the 10 or so hours that a 10 year old boy should get. there are a few things that I have started doing and they really help.
1. I do not let him go into his sleeping area for an hour before bedtime. Neither do I let him play his playstation for an hour before bed.
2. When he goes to bed I drop lavendar oil on his pillow, although I do it discretely he can tell, I just tell him it's to relax him and he doesn't ask after that.
3. I also put on on three 15 tog quilts on his bed so he is so weighted down by them all. He is 10 so there is no fear of him being in any danger of suffocation whilst he is asleep.
4. Lastly, I give him his fish oils, which right now is 4 tablespoons of eye-q.
having done all these things which are quite simple really, he is asleep in around 20 mins, which is astonishing as it used to take around 2 hours for him to fall asleep. This resulted in him being tired and irratable and just not good at school.
