What would you class as being some of the best days of your life?

I've had lots in general, one was my first date with an ex, it was in scotland in a restaurant by a window over looking a loac at sunset, the whole setting was just kind of perfect.

Another was sitting drinking tea in an old castle tea room with my current Girlfriend.

The day I recieved a large course of volumes of books on magic.

I'm not too sure I can actually identify any particular day as being great. I've had good days, but always in the back of my mind, and maybe not even that far back, have been negative thoughts, or negative reactions to the good things happening.

Watching a beautiful sunset is wonderful but tempered by the thought of driving home in the dark, with oncoming headlights. Camping can be terrific, but the thoughts of packing it all up, cleaning the gear, etc. are not far away. A delicious chocolate bar brings up the thoughts of being overweight, and food sensitivities.

I'm old ... I've had a lot of good days.

My children have been a constant source of joy, and pain ... as have been my cats.

The day my husband and I met was pretty awesome. We had our first date in Monterrey, CA ... lunch was very romantic, overlooking the Pacific Ocean watching the otters play.

Every day I'm able to stay home to raise our wild pony is a great day. Finances being what they are, if I can't find work from home SOON I'll be forced back into working outside of home ... which could result in daycare for Erich.

I hope this is not taken the wrong way but often in the past when things were perfect i have often thought now" if I could die now I would leve life happy".

I like most aspies was a very nervoud child, I can remember being 10 and going into a new year in school with a different teacher and class set up, i can recall standing in my grandmother bathroom and looking up to the roof and saying, "God is there any chance you would take me now please" I was so afraid of change. I think my whole life has been a fight against change and even now I still fight it.
The more upset the more and more temporarly withdrawn I become, my eating stops and I become mute and motionless.

One thing that makes me happy about my future is that five years ago I went to a woman I cansoder one of Irelands best psychics, she told me alot of things that were very specfic and have all come through even though most of them looked so unlikely, in my mind that gives me a bit of stabality, and I know there alot of more happy days to come.

The best day in my life, hands down, is a graduating with my B.A.

and then learning I had got accepted into graduate school

I think another close third would be learning I had HFA and just wasn't doomed to be some manic who would have to live the end of my days in a mental ward...

A good day, Serenity

I'm not sure I've had a best day, but some stand out more than others. When I was young, I once won the annual local sailboat race by accident. I misunderstood the directions and was doing the course entirely against traditional strategy (some people even tried to call me back to the pack). These were small wooden boats all made to same specifications, so once you fell behind it was nearly impossible to catch up. But then, unexpectedly, the wind and currents shifted. And because I was the only one doing things differently, I was the only one in position to take advantage of it, and I surged to the front of the field one route marker before the end as if by magic. I was very proud of that. I mean, I can't claim to have known that the weather was going to change, and I didn't really deserve to win because I was very inexperienced at sailing, but the value in which I held being different from everyone else skyrocketed after that. That really redeemed everything for me, and probably played a large role in how I approached my life thereafter.

Julie,
I'm only visiting this year, but i have to admit I am terrified, though I won't be too bad for the visit itself as i know i'm returning, when I move to work for a few months next year I have no idea how I'm going to cope, at least Jean will be there for me.

I'm hopeing I can adapt, living with out the things in my room is going to be hard, I literally study my interest texts every single day.

Kirk,

Are you going to bring some of your texts with you or have another set of texts in the states? Doesn't seem like a good idea to not have any with you, as studying your interests will probably help to alleviate stress.

Did you say you and Jean are moving to St. Louis, Missouri? Are there a lot of acting jobs there? I guess I would have thought New York, Los Angeles or Chicago would have been the best places for acting jobs. I also have this perception that Irish and/or British actors are very popular with US audiences and that may be a benefit for both of you.

Kirk's moving? Our trampled, dirty shores are to be graced with his presence? HOORAY!!

My answer is... all of them. Even the bad ones got me somewhere, and none of them killed me. The fantastic ones are just a bonus.

Such an optimist, aren't I?

Mary, I agree, even the bad ones got me somewhere. I think the best day of my life was graduating from High School...I hated it so much. I felt that I was let out of prison.

Kirk, why are you moving to New Orleans?

Well the move will be next year and it will only be temporary at first, three months maybe.

My girlfriend Loves New Oliens and thinks she has a great chance of acting there, she is not worried weather it is on stage, Radio or what ever. She is going there first to set everything up, she knows i would not do well if I had to do this.

Julie, i will have to bring some of my texts with me or I would really go insane, i will just have to make sure to bring one of the most comprehensive ones that will take along time to study everything from cover to cover. This interest takes a very long time to master, you could read how to do somethign but with out the skill you have no chance of being able to actually do it.

Mentalists and magicians are some times compared to a Doctor, to know one or two treetments does not make you a doctor, simpley a person applying treetments, simularly knowing one or two tricks does not make you a magician, simply a person doing tricks. And as a mentalist to be only able to make a prediction once is a while is not good enough.

Kirk.

There have been many great days in my life, and some sad ones.

The great days include:

The day my cat, Samantha, joined my family. She loved me unconditionally for 20 years.

The day my kitty boys, Peter, Paul, and Prince, were born. Seeing them just made my heart melt. Watching them grow and develop into handsome adult cats was a source of joy for me.

Graduating from high school with a Bank of America Award in the field of English.

Getting four college degrees (Associate's, Bachelor's and Master's in English, and an Associate of Occupational Sciences in Legal Office Systems.)

Working for a year as an English instructor.

Getting my job at my local newspaper as a proofreader.

July 15, 2002-Getting my current, and favorite job, at the library. I recently passed my third anniversary at the library, and have applied for a new position. I am excited about it.

Joining the Siamese Internet Cat Club, and making friends all over the world.

Finding this site, and finding common ground here as well. I am thrilled that many people here are also cat/animal lovers.

I am fortunate that there were very few really protacted bad times in my life. Some events in my life were scary (dealing with bullies). Others were sad (the passing of Samantha on August 18, 1999 at age 20 years, 4 months) but, on the whole, life has been good to me. My greatest challenge now is to overcome nervousness and achieve greater success.

Kirk,
New Orleans will be very different for you. Maybe if you study some of the Cajun traditions and the Cajun and jazz music before you go, that might be helpful in developing an interest so you have some things to look forward to.

I think you'll really like the Cajun food, it's very hot and spicy...also lots of really good barbecue there. The French Quarter is interesting and where most of the Mardi Gras celebrations are. If you like jazz, you'll really enjoy the music scene there and the Cajun music is fun too.

The heat and humidity are very high though. I think you said you'll be spending Summer's in Ireland? That would be best, I'm sure you wouldn't like Summer's in New Orleans.
