I have my own area of expertise called Telon. Because of this, I am sometimes asked to review a plan in case a Telon-related misunderstanding will cause a problem. Surprisingly often, I notice what seems to me an obvious defect that has nothing to do with Telon, and I find it hard to understand why none of the important people who have spent months or years developing and discussing this plan realized this would never work.
This is why I sometimes get the feeling all NTs are idiots, especially when I point out the problem and they all reply "thirty PhDs spent two years on this plan so it must be right" after paying me to look for flaws.
I've gradually come to the conclusion that NTs have a deep instinct to 'fit in' with those around them, thinking and acting exactly alike. Martha Stewart makes millions just by telling people how to be exact clones of each other. This instinct is totally lacking in me, so I always ask my wife what I should wear to social occaisions. Sometimes she complains about this, but if I choose myself, she always says "You can't wear THAT" and has to choose herself anyway.
The little boy who said "The emperor has no clothes!" was certainly an Aspie. Were the rest of the crowd idiots? No, they were just trying to fit in.
