Has anyone read it? Is it as interesting as it sounds?

OK - you are probably going to laugh at this. When I went in and looked at the title I thought to myself "Ahhh - perfect title" as so many AS seem to feel those around them are idiots and do not suffer then gladly. I know that is how Max is. Imagine my surprise when I read the review to see that is what they were called. Shows you how much has changed! AS people are clearly the unidiots! Linda

I have my own area of expertise called Telon. Because of this, I am sometimes asked to review a plan in case a Telon-related misunderstanding will cause a problem. Surprisingly often, I notice what seems to me an obvious defect that has nothing to do with Telon, and I find it hard to understand why none of the important people who have spent months or years developing and discussing this plan realized this would never work.

This is why I sometimes get the feeling all NTs are idiots, especially when I point out the problem and they all reply "thirty PhDs spent two years on this plan so it must be right" after paying me to look for flaws.

I've gradually come to the conclusion that NTs have a deep instinct to 'fit in' with those around them, thinking and acting exactly alike. Martha Stewart makes millions just by telling people how to be exact clones of each other. This instinct is totally lacking in me, so I always ask my wife what I should wear to social occaisions. Sometimes she complains about this, but if I choose myself, she always says "You can't wear THAT" and has to choose herself anyway.

The little boy who said "The emperor has no clothes!" was certainly an Aspie. Were the rest of the crowd idiots? No, they were just trying to fit in.

You sound like a regular NT husband to me! I'm sure this scene is played out in many homes around the world.

I visited Blackpool last year with John ( he loves it ), I'm not all that keen.
I noticed that almost every woman ( from child to extremely old ) was wearing the same outfit, whether it suited them or not.
Uniform of a kind & it all looked very odd.

I'm pretty sure that from time immemorial, or at least the last few decades, teens have 'rebelled' in exactly the same way as all their peers. It's so laughable, really. The true rebels, the ones who really don't conform, are condemned by their peer group as being conformists. What a farce.

Plato complained that the teens of his day were revolting, and that schools should teach only 'politically corrected' versions of classics, so that their minds would remain pure.

Not very different from today's abstinence-only programs.

Are you trying to say that if we'd been less free about teaching free sex to the teens over the decades, we'd have fewer STD in the teen population and fewer unwed mothers? (That's a joke on my part, as I recognize that teens have never been taught to have free (indescriminate) sex: at least not to my knowledge)

I wonder if the very few who didn't wear this clothing, were all AS?

I think I understand the free milk/buy cow argument that mothers use on their daughters, but I often wonder why older men try to put obstacles in the way of younger men. My own theory is jealousy.

Sorry, John, but I cannot see the relevance of this comment? To what are you referring? An earlier post here, or elsewhere? (The only comment I can see that seems even remotely to relate is the one about teaching abstinance.)

That was the connection, but I guess it wasn't that strong. Sorry.

No problem. In defense of old men, I don't think it is THEY who are recommending abstinence. Or maybe, to support those whose point of view is rather different; in comdemnation of old men, I don't think it is THEY who are recommending abstinence.

I LOVE taking both sides in a discussion. \:D

I'm not sure what you mean here, are you referring to breast feeding?

Oh & happy birthday to you

WFM - that is a saying that our mothers teach us almost from the womb. It's meaning is no guy is going to marry you if he is getting what he wants from you without marriage (meaning sex).
Why would someone buy the cow if they are getting the milk free?
I thought every Mom/Dad told their daughters that so it is interesting to me that others have not heard the expression.
