Strangely enough, another cat presented herself to me not too long ago. A deep, velvety grey she was, and as affectionate and loving as I've ever seen an animal of the feline persuasion to be. Almost behaved like a dog actually, very social. Haven't a clue where she came from, all the cats around here are feral as far as I can tell. I let her kip at my place long enough to give her a name, then realized quite quickly that I would be doing both of us a great disservice were she to remain, as I have had substantial problems in the past with the kinds of parasitic insects that love this area's humidity and animal fur, not to mention my skin. So I had to let little Nightshade go, I'm afraid. She was a sweet girl, but not my type if I am to remain in paradise and be flea (and misery) free.
