That's exactly what I was thinking when I read v-dog's post, LOL.

I'm afraid I turned my poor cat into a neurotic, anti-social mess, if that tells you where I was at back seven or eight years ago...

Don't know where he got his piggish gluttony, though. That cat was ALWAYS whining for food. Drove me nuts. But I hated to see him go. Contracted a feline virus and I didn't have the money for the vet at the time. I made him as comfortable as possible before he went, so that offered me some solace, but still...

Strangely enough, another cat presented herself to me not too long ago. A deep, velvety grey she was, and as affectionate and loving as I've ever seen an animal of the feline persuasion to be. Almost behaved like a dog actually, very social. Haven't a clue where she came from, all the cats around here are feral as far as I can tell. I let her kip at my place long enough to give her a name, then realized quite quickly that I would be doing both of us a great disservice were she to remain, as I have had substantial problems in the past with the kinds of parasitic insects that love this area's humidity and animal fur, not to mention my skin. So I had to let little Nightshade go, I'm afraid. She was a sweet girl, but not my type if I am to remain in paradise and be flea (and misery) free.

they make inexpensive but effective flea removal products as well as deworming and other parasites. in my opinion such a small price to pay for the uncondional love of an animal as well as the companionship. that explains why my wife and I have had so many animals
