Just got my insulin - and my co-pay was $6.40 instead of $76. Retail? About $320.
Ya gotta love that!
If you yell long enough at enough people, you can get things fixed.

It's not even 1/3 of a bottle of JD at the club I'm going to for the Grammy party. Maybe I should bring a film crew and we can play "How fast can an Aspie make friends and be offered a drink when booze is $250 a bottle." May be the prize cou;d be a trip to London.

Wouldn't "party" and "not drink" constitute an oxymoron? I'll have a fellow board member along for adult supervision - so not TOO many worries. Just depends on who I team up with once I'm there and how wild we decide to get. But all the cops went to my high school, so I'm not worried about trouble. They'll take my side. It's not like NY where I didn't know anyone - it's my hometown. (To quote Springsteen as he sang in Jersey.) Honestly, I didn't mind the lack of booze at Skywalker - we were there to work. But this is a party, not a technical evaluation of audio gear. We're there to schmooze and eat and listen to world class entertainment in a very small venue amd feel important. The booze is a given. I wouldn't go if there weren't drinks.

its like the old adage; the noisiest axle gets the oil. scream loud enough and long enough they'd rather give in than have to listen to anymore.
its like drug manufactors are raping us. legalized highway robbery if you ask me. "are you telling me that it cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to MASS produce large quantities of medication in this day and age?" especially desparately required drugs like insulin? give me a break. you get a brand name drug and forget it, you're paying a year college tuition for a months supply.
they got us by the throat. either pay out the ears for your meds or suffer like hell.

Maybe it's time to NOT drink at the party? Speaking of not drinking alcohol, I have recently discovered the subtle joys of kava, a Polynesian plant root that is ground up and mixed with either water or coconut water. Drinking kava gives the user a mild sense of euphoria and a generalized feeling of calm and relaxation without the potentially undesirable side effects of alcohol use. It's legal, non-addictive and quite enjoyable to boot. I'm mentioning all of this because I've noticed that the more kava I consume, the less desire I have to drink alcohol. I still enjoy alcohol of course, but right now, kava rules!

I have heard Kava and Valerian compared before - What would your opinion on that be?
Personally, I intend to party. There will be a few people I know, a ton of people I know within one person - and a lot of people who will be wanting to talk music and engineering and let their hair down a bit.
It's not about the drugs (I happened to walk by Studio 54 when I was in NY speaking of drugs) it's about the socialization. Which is helped by the drugs. We're not talking about a room full of normal people here - These will all be Grammy voters and their guests. We didn't get there by being normal. I expect to see no hard drugs, little if any pot, but plenty of cocktails flowing.
We are professionals, after all.

I've never heard of Valerian, so I wouldn't be able to compare the two.
