Just got a Grammy invite to see Solomon Burke and several others in LA in late January - so I might do that instead. It includes a reception and a meet and greet. As much as I hate Los Angeles, I might have to go.

Los Angeles it is. You guys missed out on a serious tour of Nashville.

What did I miss in this discussion. LA is January and Nashville was to be in May. I don't see the conflict (as long as someone of us wins a lottery).

Nashville was gonna be mid Feb. No one really signed on, and the Solomon Burke/Jason Mraz turned up in late Jan , so that it must be.

Too close together for me to afford both.

Since the Burk think is a Grammy Foundation and not Grammy event, it might well be open to the public at the $25 ticket price.

May 27 is the 128th AES conference in London. Maybe that's what you're thinking of.

I probably wasn't thinking at all.

I'm going to drive down, because it's way cheaper than airfare/rent-a-car - but I still need accomodations. So far, the hostels look like West Hollywood, Santa Monica and Venice. Can any Los Angelenos or former Los Angelenos offer an opinion? The gig is at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre on West 8th.

Any input is appreciated. Lots of hostels up by Melrose - which is a cool area - but insider input is well appreciated. Thanks guys (and girls).
