Thanks, Howie. I haven't dropped off the face of the earth or anything- I've just been super busy and don't really feel comfortable here anymore because of a particular PM I received. I've moved over to Facebook and am hanging out with an N/T crowd of people I know from real life. Portland and Hermosa Beach were awesome, and Grammy Week was a lot of fun. Solomon Burke brought down the house at the Wilshire-Ebell in Beverly Hills, and NARAS rented us the Hard Rock in SF for a viewing party and took good care of us. I could have stayed in LA and gone to the Grammys, as 3 very sweet Australian girls from my beachside hostel offered to pay for my ticket if I would use my invite to bring them as guests, but someone had to be the grownup and suggest that their money might be better spent elsewhere. It's still really hectic trying to get the artist, studio, money people, and session cats on the same page, but if this song is going to get done, it will be in the next few weeks. Meanwhile, I have a ticket to see Elvis Costello on Wednesday solo acoustic right down the block and I'll be stopping in to see Casey Neill and the Norway Rats on the 27th (friend of a friend and someone I did sound for in PDX) when he'll be in town on his tour- so life is still too busy. April will be full of great music for me.
I'm going back to NYC in October, and to AES in San Francisco in November, and will likely spend the summer relaxing and trying to stress less- and maybe having my knee surgery.
I have had to get a Blackberry to keep up with all of this- and this is from a guy who lived without even a landline phone for 5 years because I didn't want to be annoyed. It's awesome, because I can call up the web from anywhere (no wasted time) and the GPS gives me turn by turn directions no matter what city I am in. (Went to LA without even a map and before I got this BB, but I had a general idea of where I was and where I needed to be.)
So all the music stuff is still happening- I'm just having to do the networking and dress up with the Italian shirts and be seen at the right parties in the right cities. NT stuff- which has exhausted me.
So I'm still around- Just leaving this board to those who have the patience to put up with it and not dealing with the people who annoy me. Sometimes even Aspies would rather deal with NTs.
