Well, Max finally got his learners permit (did not feel he was ready before) and took his first drivers training course yesterday. Said it went much better than he ever expected. About a year ago I started just telling him what I was doing as I was driving so it would become ingrained in his mind. Then when he got his permit we let him practice in large empty parking lots (like at the Junior College up the street) and then around our neighbor hood. So this is a major accomplishment as I was not sure he would ever feel comfortable driving. He was concerned with so many things going on at once. We told him that you get used to that with time. So far so good!

Also had a very successful birthday party last week. He wanted a party but said he did not know how to throw one and would not be comfortable calling people and inviting them etc. but his best friend will did it as a gift to him. It turned out great! Lots of music, lots of fun and 8 16 years olds spent the night - argghh

Indeed - be careful what you wish for!

Congrats, seriously.

Congrats!!!

I made it out of the parking lot, but never out of the neighborhood. I scared my stepdad (who used to be a Sargent in the Marines). I almost hit a parked car going 15 mphs - gave us both heart attacks! After that, I just gave up and now I have forever lost the change to learn how to drive - driving is a huge thing in life and I'm glad he got a chance to learn how smile

8 16 year olds in one night sounded like fun - belated Happy Birthday to Max!

happy belated 16th birthday to Max. now Max has some really good friends setting up a party for him. better for you than me having 8 16 yr olds at my house hap LMAO I doubt I could handle it. I'd tell the wife good luck and say "don't let them burn the house down, I'm going fishing!" lmao that is just dang noisy for me to handle

They were actually very cool. They played electric music until 10 and then acoustic and it ended up being a mixture of kids and osme of our friends dropped by and were enjoying their music so much (one was parents of one of his band mates and one couple are friends that brought their 15 year old daughter & friend who have a crush on the band). The kids did not seem to mind us hanging about and we all ended up in the music room at one point and it was great. We left them to it about midnight and they were very quiet actually.

Unfortunately I had to get up and leave for the cabin at 7:00 AM and Michael had to feed them all breakfast at noon(she smiles...)
